When you are building a custom motorcycle, trying to keep the handlebar area clean and free of all kinds of wiring and switches is always a goal. In most cases, less is more. When you buy a bike, it is common to have cables and wires everywhere. Wires for your turn signals, wires for lights, clutch and brake, and throttle cables, it just gets messy pretty quickly. 

Obviously, you need to have some of these things to operate your bike, but getting them organized in a way that allows the function while looking clean and neat is the key. 

When you change out your handlebars you will often have to extend or shorten your wiring. This is a common issue and depending on the bike and the number of accessories the process can take some time and thought. If you need to extend your wiring you may want to look for a handlebar wiring extension kit. These kits come in a variety of lengths and provide you with all of the wires needed for the specific model you are working on.
