Really great carb, with one problem

I installed a JRC carburetor on my 1968 BSA 441 Victor. It has been noted that you have to shorten the left side stud to mount the carb. I added an extra spacer between the carb and the head and also sanded the nuts thinner instead. Worked great. The bike runs better in every way. It idles at a low RPM and never dies. Power seems about the same as my worn out Amal, but the vibration is greatly reduced everywhere. I'm not sure why this is but the difference is dramatic. The one problem I did have is that the float stuck twice and poured gasoline out the side of the carb. This was traced to the pin that acts as the pivot for the float sliding sideways enough to jam the float in one position. I made a new pin out of a .100 drill bit and that cured the problem. It should be known the BSA really shakes and vibrates much more compared to anything modern or even a British twin. Bottom line is that I love the carb and what it did for my bike. Highly recommended.
